Physical AI test case for O-RAN-assisted remote robot driving

This Physical AI project studies remote robotic control as a network-aware physical system. In the UHM Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) setting, students use a smart robot car, a steering console, live sensing feedback, and the WINGS O-RAN/AI-RAN testbed to explore how wireless network behavior affects embodied AI and real-time control.

The project uses the O-RAN/AI-RAN testbed as infrastructure for command delivery, video feedback, telemetry collection, and future xApp-based control policies. The robotic platform provides a concrete Physical AI workload where wireless latency, coverage, congestion, and sensing quality can directly influence control decisions.
